When hiking in the Alps, you may expect a great variety of possibilities – starting from Castelrotto, you may choose among more than 40 different routes to beautiful destinations. Theme walks are always a great idea. On the “Oswald von Wolkenstein Path”, you will hike past the Ruins of Hauenstein and the Hauenstein Forest. At 15 stations, you will learn more about the late Middle Ages in South Tyrol, the knight Oswald von Wolkenstein, and the Nature Park Sciliar-Catinaccio. The physically more challenging “Geotrail” takes you from the Panider Saddle to the village of Bulla. Here, you will find plenty of information about the origins of the Dolomites on eight information boards.

Starting from Compaccio, you first hike across the blooming meadows of the Alpe di Siusi, then to the Saltner Hut and on to the Frötschbach. Continue the tour on the so-called “Tourist Trail”, which leads you to the Sciliar Plateau and the Sciliar House. From there you will soon reach the summit cross on the highest point of Mount Sciliar and be rewarded with an unparalleled view of the enchanting surroundings.
